Connect your AI assistant to European Charging Data in a few minutes. The server address is https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp (with /mcp at the end). Claude and ChatGPT sign you in with your account, so they need no API key; the key is for Claude Code, Cursor and scripts.

Sign in first. Open your account in the same browser before you start. The connector's sign-in window then goes straight to the approval page instead of asking for an e-mail link.

Claude

claude.ai and Claude Desktop. In a Team or Enterprise organisation an owner adds the connector first, under the organisation's connector settings.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors (in some versions Customize → Connectors).
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name: European Charging Data. Remote MCP server URL: https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp. Press Add.
  4. Press Connect. A sign-in window opens: sign in with your account and press Approve.
  5. In a new chat open the + menu, choose Connectors and switch on European Charging Data.
  6. Ask: Give me a market overview for Finland.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http nap https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose nap and Authenticate. Or use an API key from your account instead of signing in:

claude mcp add --transport http nap https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

ChatGPT

Works with a free ChatGPT account too, as long as developer mode and custom connectors are available to you (OpenAI may change this). In Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an administrator has to allow developer mode and custom connectors first.

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors (or Connectors), then Advanced settings, and switch Developer mode on.
  2. Press Create (add a custom connector).
  3. Name: European Charging Data. MCP server URL: https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp. Authentication: OAuth. Leave any client id or secret empty. Accept the notice and press Create.
  4. A sign-in window opens: sign in with your account and press Approve.
  5. In a new chat use + → More to choose the connector (or type @European Charging Data).
  6. Ask: Give me a market overview for Finland.

Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other tools

These tools connect with an API key from API keys in your account.

Cursor

File .cursor/mcp.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nap": {
      "url": "https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:NAP_API_KEY}"
      }
    }
  }
}

Put your API key in the environment variable NAP_API_KEY.

VS Code

File .vscode/mcp.json

{
  "servers": {
    "nap": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:nap-key}"
      }
    }
  },
  "inputs": [
    {
      "type": "promptString",
      "id": "nap-key",
      "description": "European Charging Data API key",
      "password": true
    }
  ]
}

Nothing to replace: copy the file as it is. VS Code asks for your API key the first time it loads the file.

Gemini CLI

File ~/.gemini/settings.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nap": {
      "httpUrl": "https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

Replace YOUR_API_KEY with a key from your account.

Connection details

Transport: streamable HTTP
Server address: https://mcp.solidroam.com/mcp
Header: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP can connect this way.

Try these first

Paste a question into your assistant once it is connected. The first two work on the Explorer plan; the third needs Analyst.

Explorer

“Where can I charge right now close to Helsinki Central railway station? Show the five nearest sites, their operators and how many charge points are free at each.”

Live availability around any point: sites, operators and free charge points, from the Finnish national access point feed.

Explorer

“Show me a weekday-by-hour activity map for the Finnish example site and tell me when it is busiest and quietest.”

A heat map of when chargers are really used, with the busiest hour found for you.

Analyst

“Compare the current per-kWh prices of the biggest charging operators in Denmark and tell me where charging is cheapest.”

Current tariffs side by side, wherever the operators publish them.

If something does not work

Paid plans cover every country; the Explorer plan covers Finland, Norway and Denmark at site level. Plans and prices
